Amtico: questions and answers

Amtico luxury vinyl flooring combines wood, stone and decorative looks with collection-specific fitting systems. Choose the design, product code and installation format together.

Is every Amtico product a click floor?

No. Signature, Form and Spacia include glue-down flooring; Click Smart uses a click system. Confirm the exact product and format on the quotation. Preparation, installation and any acoustic requirements must be assessed for that system.

Does Amtico need separate underlay?

It depends on the format. Glue-down flooring is not installed over an ordinary carpet underlay, while Click Smart has an integrated underlay system. Read the product-specific underlay answer before adding any extra layer.

Can I use a steam mop on Amtico?

Amtico advises against steam cleaning because heat can affect the floor or adhesive. See our steam-cleaning answer and follow the care instructions for the exact floor.

Can Amtico be fitted over my existing floor?

The fitter must assess the substrate against the chosen product’s installation requirements. A smooth-looking surface is not proof that it is suitable. Our installation planning guide explains preparation, fitting systems and room layout.

How do I check the correct warranty?

Use the terms for the exact collection, application and purchase. Confirm any registration requirement, exclusions and transfer conditions. The warranty checklist preserves the important differences between the published documents.

What helps me compare two fitted quotations?

Use the same product code and layout, then compare preparation, fitting, trims, removal and disposal as well as the flooring quantity. Ask for each component to be identified so the total reflects the same finished project.

Can Amtico LVT be used outside or in an unheated outbuilding?

Amtico's residential LVT FAQ excludes outdoor and unheated areas. Describe the actual room and temperature conditions before selecting a collection. A covered space or enclosed garden room should not be treated as an ordinary heated interior without that assessment.

Is Click Smart covered by Amtico's general conservatory advice?

Amtico's cleaning FAQ makes a specific conservatory exception for Click Smart. Do not transfer advice for another Amtico collection to it. Tell FloorDesigns and the fitter about direct sunlight and room conditions, then confirm a suitable collection and current instructions.

Can I use a rubber-backed entrance mat on Amtico?

Amtico advises avoiding rubber-backed mats because they can permanently stain LVT. Choose a compatible mat and keep grit away from the floor. Add suitable felt protection beneath furniture feet and check any other covering against the selected product's care instructions.

Does one damaged Amtico tile mean replacing the whole floor?

Not necessarily. Amtico says individual tiles can often be repaired or replaced. Have the damage and fitting system assessed before attempting a repair. Amtico recommends an endorsed or fully trained fitter for repair work; retain the product reference and any spare material.

Does a water-resistant tile make the complete glue-down installation flood-proof?

No. Amtico notes that adhesive may soften after prolonged submersion. Its LVT FAQ distinguishes glue-down collections from Click Smart. For a bathroom, assess the substrate, edges and junctions as well as the tile; report flooding for a proper assessment before assuming the floor is unaffected.

Why can two Amtico layouts using the same colour have different fitted quotations?

The layout can change cutting, setting out, borders and fitting work. Compare the same collection, tile format, pattern and preparation scope. Have the fitter show the direction through doorways and adjoining rooms before comparing totals or deciding the order quantity.
