Amtico flooring guide: choose the collection and fitting method
Amtico offers luxury vinyl flooring in several collections. Start by choosing the design and installation format together: the brand name alone does not tell you how a floor should be fitted or which specification applies.
Which Amtico collections should I compare?
Amtico’s current residential collection pages include Signature, Décor, Form, Spacia, Click Smart and First. Signature emphasises design choice; Décor offers decorative patterns; Form includes textured wood and stone looks. Compare the actual product code, dimensions and installation instructions alongside the colour.
Bring two or three samples into the room. Look at them beside your paint, furniture and adjoining floor in daylight and evening light. This is the basis of a useful shortlist.
Is all Amtico click flooring?
No. Amtico identifies Signature, Form and Spacia as glue-down collections, while Click Smart uses a click-locking system. Calling the whole brand “SPC” would hide an important difference. Ask which format your selected product uses before comparing fitted costs.
For your quotation, record the existing floor, thresholds, room dimensions and any underfloor heating. Ask the fitter to identify the preparation and installation requirements for that exact product.
What about pets, cleaning and everyday wear?
Choose a floor for the way the room will be used. Ask about the product’s wear specification and care instructions; scratch resistance should not be read as a promise that a floor cannot be damaged.
Amtico advises against steam cleaning because heat may damage tiles or the adhesive. Follow the current care instructions for your collection and the label on the recommended cleaning product.
How should I check the warranty and sustainability claims?
Use the warranty document for your collection, intended use and purchase. Ask what it covers, what it excludes and which installation or care conditions apply. A headline warranty term is not a promise that every type of damage is covered.
If environmental credentials matter to your decision, ask for the current certificate or declaration covering the exact product. Keep it with your quotation rather than relying on a general claim about the brand.
