FLOORDESIGNS / AMTICO GUIDE

Amtico warranties: what to check before buying

A practical Amtico warranty checklist: identify your collection, check the current terms and keep the documents for your flooring project.

Check the collection, not just the brand

Amtico publishes different residential warranty periods by collection: Signature and Décor have lifetime cover for the original purchaser; Form 30 years, Spacia 25 years, Click Smart 20 years and First 15 years. Eligibility, exclusions and transfer conditions are set out in the applicable terms.

Make the paperwork part of the purchase

Before ordering, ask for the current warranty document for the exact collection and intended use. Read it alongside the product specification and fitting proposal. Keep a copy dated to your purchase so you can find the relevant information later.

What does wear-out cover?

The linked Signature warranty and Form warranty define wear-out as pattern and colour being removed through the protective wear layer. Ordinary scratches, scuffs and accidental damage are excluded in those documents. A long wear warranty is not a promise of an unmarkable surface.

Is registration required?

Both inspected Signature and Form documents require registration within 60 days of purchase and identify professional installation and approved care conditions. Check the document for your actual collection; this is not a verified registration rule for every Amtico product. Signature terms; Form terms.

Can the warranty pass to a new owner?

Do not calculate remaining cover from a brand headline. The Signature residential terms, SIG-WR-20231205-05-EN, allow transfer and measure the maximum 35-year period from original purchase. The overview webpage instead refers to installation. We have not resolved that difference with Amtico.

Keep the invoice, fitting date and applicable terms. Before relying on transferred cover, obtain confirmation of eligibility and the start date for that purchase. This guide does not calculate an expiry date or guarantee that a transfer will be accepted. Other collections need their own terms checked.

Keep manufacturer cover and fitting questions distinct

Ask who will assess a concern and what evidence is required before arranging removal or replacement. Do not assume a material-warranty headline includes every labour, access or consequential cost. The Signature and Form documents expressly preserve statutory rights; this checklist does not decide those separate entitlements.

Your project folder

  • Collection name, design name and product code.
  • Invoice and supplier details.
  • Installation date and installer details.
  • Any registration confirmation and care instructions.
  • Photographs and correspondence about the project.

Questions worth asking

Does the document cover the intended room and type of use? What installation and maintenance conditions apply? Is registration needed? What happens if the property changes ownership? Ask the supplier to clarify anything you cannot match to your project before purchase.

If something needs attention

Record when you first noticed the issue and take clear photographs of the area and wider room. Contact the supplier or installer with your project documents so the concern can be assessed. A stated warranty period alone does not establish whether a particular issue is covered.
