Moduleo installation: preparation, fitting systems and room planning

Identify the precise fitting system before ordering materials. Flexible LVT and rigid click flooring have different instructions, and an approved underlay option is not permission to use any underlay.

Which fitting instructions apply?

Moduleo’s installation overview distinguishes flexible gluedown flooring from rigid click. The linked flexible guide, version 07.2026 also includes an approved Moduleo self-adhesive underlay method. Rigid click instructions, version 07.2026 are a separate document.

Write the document name and version into your installation brief. Our planning advice is to ask the installer to confirm the chosen route against the actual packaging, rather than proceed from the words “Moduleo flooring” on a quotation.

Does a click floor remove the need for preparation?

No. Moduleo’s rigid instructions require a stable, flat, clean and permanently dry base; attached-underlay products must not receive an extra underlay. The flexible guide also requires suitable preparation and distinguishes the tolerances of its two methods. See rigid preparation, page 2 and flexible preparation, page 2.

Ask for a record of what was inspected, what preparation is included and what remains unknown until an old covering is removed. A useful quotation explains the assumptions. It does not simply say “no preparation needed” without relating that conclusion to your floor.

Arrange delivery and room conditions

Both July 2026 guides specify 48 hours of acclimatisation in unopened boxes. Their temperature ranges differ: flexible LVT is 18–25°C; rigid click is 15–25°C. Check the complete conditions table and the adhesive requirements, not just the number of hours. These figures belong to those specific guides. Flexible guide, page 1; rigid guide, page 1.

Plan where boxes will be stored and who will maintain the required conditions. Tell the installer about recent wet building work, heating or cooling systems and any areas with different temperatures. Do not arrange fitting around an assumed universal overnight waiting period.

Plan fixed furniture and transitions

The two guides warn against blocking a floating installation with fixed or heavy built-in objects. The applicable system determines the movement details. Flexible guide, page 1; rigid guide, pages 1–3.

On your room sketch, mark kitchen islands, fitted cabinets, doorways and adjoining floor finishes. Ask the installer to explain the sequence and show where joints or profiles are proposed. Agree the appearance of these details before the work begins.

What should an installation quotation include?

  • Product, format and installation method—not only a brand and a square-metre rate.
  • Survey findings and the preparation included, with a process for unexpected conditions.
  • Layout, joins, thresholds, edges and accessories identified by the installer.
  • Responsibilities for furniture, uplift, disposal, access and delivery.
  • An agreed handover covering first use, furniture return and cleaning.

Our comparison method is simple: place two quotations beside the same room drawing and check each item. Resolve a difference in scope before treating a lower total as a saving.

What should I keep after fitting?

Keep the selected-product record, preparation specification, agreed layout, invoice and handover advice together. Add photographs of the completed thresholds and perimeter details. When asking about a later concern, describe the location, when it appeared and any changes in room conditions; do not diagnose the cause from appearance alone.

Discuss your floor, not just a product name

Bring your collection and product code, a room sketch and the questions you still need answered. This makes a more useful conversation than asking whether an entire brand is right for every room.
