Can you bleach-clean every Abingdon carpet?

Abingdon describes Stainfree polypropylene carpets and Love Story polyester carpets separately from its Wilton Royal wool and wool-blend offering. Its carpet overview advertises bleach-cleanable Love Story products. Do not extend that permission to Wilton Royal or an unidentified carpet.

What is needed before using bleach?

Find the range name and the instructions that came with it. Request the approved product, concentration, application and rinsing method for that carpet, including any restrictions around neighbouring materials. This answer deliberately does not supply a blanket dilution recipe. Never combine cleaning chemicals.

“Stain resistant” is not itself a treatment instruction. Neither a white carpet nor a successful treatment on a different floor establishes compatibility.

Already used a cleaner?

Stop adding treatments while you identify the carpet. Record the cleaner, concentration and sequence used and send photographs with the product details. A description cannot establish whether the result is removable residue, colour change or damage.
