Causeway Carpets: questions and answers
Causeway Carpets presents different wool-blend and textured carpet choices. A meaningful comparison starts with the named range and fibre blend, then examines appearance, room use, width, stair suitability and the fully fitted price.
Does Causeway make only pure-wool carpet?
No. The manufacturer examples retained by FloorDesigns include Fine Velvet Aegean 22 as an 80/20 wool-nylon blend and Camberley Alpine Mist as a 70/30 wool–recycled-polyester blend. Check each range’s current data.
Are Camberley Classic and Camberley Textures identical?
They are separately named manufacturer ranges, even when sharing the Alpine Mist colour reference. Compare the samples and exact product specification before assuming the same appearance, width, pile or installed quantity.
Can I fit Causeway carpet on stairs?
This depends on the particular range, construction and intended use. Have the fitter confirm suitability, direction, winders, nosings and underlay before ordering; stairs should not be priced as a simple rectangular area.
Can Causeway carpet be used over underfloor heating?
Check the selected carpet’s tog together with the proposed underlay and the heating supplier’s maximum permitted resistance. Fibre percentages alone do not establish compatibility.
Can I bleach-clean a Causeway wool-blend carpet?
Do not use bleach or strong cleaners unless the manufacturer explicitly permits them for that named carpet. Seek specific spill guidance and keep the care instructions provided with the purchase.
What is included in an accurate Causeway carpet estimate?
The chosen range and colour, measured carpet quantity, joins and stair layout, underlay, thresholds, uplift, labour and VAT should all be clear. Confirm availability and installation timing at quotation.
Should Causeway loop and cut-pile carpets use the same vacuum head?
Causeway gives different vacuum advice for loop and cut pile.
Its care guide recommends suction cleaning without driven brushes for loops; cut-pile guidance permits a rotating brush. Match the head to the purchased construction.
Can I use a domestic steam machine on Causeway carpet?
Causeway directs deep cleaning to a professional.
Its guidance recommends professional hot-water extraction and excludes DIY steam cleaning. Give the cleaner the exact range and fibre details.
Will different Causeway roll widths always colour-match?
An exact match between different widths is not assured.
Causeway recommends one width where possible. Discuss joins and matching before ordering a continuous room or adjoining areas.
Should I cut or pull a snagged Causeway loop?
Do not pull it; Causeway advises professional repair for loop pile.
Protect the area from further snagging and ask FloorDesigns to assess it. Do not apply cut-pile trimming advice to a loop.
What evidence helps with a Causeway carpet concern?
Keep the invoice, range, colour, fitting record and supplied terms.
Photograph the issue and contact the retailer with the purchase details. Keep records of any cleaning or treatment already carried out.

What should a Causeway layout record show for adjoining rooms?
Record roll width, joins, direction and the rooms to be matched.
Agree these details before the cutting order, particularly where a doorway connects two carpeted spaces. Retain a labelled offcut if one is available.
