Canopy: questions and answers
Canopy’s current UK range spans engineered wood, SPC luxury vinyl flooring and patterned layouts. The key decision is not simply the oak shade: different constructions need different fitting methods, preparation and maintenance.
Does Canopy sell both real wood and LVT?
Yes. The manufacturer lists engineered wood, SPC vinyl and other floor constructions. Decide which system suits your room and intended look before comparing colours; installation and care cannot be transferred from wood to vinyl.
Is Canopy herringbone harder to fit than straight plank?
It needs a different layout and cutting plan. Pack quantities, starting line, room geometry and fitting labour can vary. Ask for an estimate based on the selected herringbone product and actual room dimensions.
Do all Canopy floors use the same underlay?
No. Canopy publishes separate installation guides for SPC, glue-down LVT, real wood, laminate and parquet formats. Use only the underlay or adhesive system approved for the named product.
Can I use Canopy flooring in a kitchen?
Some named Canopy products list kitchen use, but suitability must be established from that product’s own technical information. Check moisture exposure, subfloor conditions and any wet-area restrictions before buying.
Will underfloor heating work with Canopy?
Product suitability, surface-temperature limits, the heating system and required preparation all need checking together. Obtain the exact manufacturer’s guidance; a generic ‘compatible’ symbol is not permission to ignore heating instructions.
How many packs of Canopy flooring will I need?
Start from a room plan, then account for layout waste, cuts and whole-pack coverage. Herringbone may require a different take-off than a straight plank. The finished area alone is not the purchased quantity.
Are Canopy Camber Oak and Calverley the same type of herringbone?
No. Camber is SPC vinyl; Calverley is engineered oak.
The checked product pages identify click/floating installation for Camber and tongue-and-groove, nailed or glued installation for Calverley. Specify the exact product.
Why does Calverley's Invisible UV Oiled finish matter?
It identifies a wood finish that needs compatible aftercare.
Confirm the cleaner and maintenance method for that finish before treating the floor. A vinyl cleaning routine does not establish suitable wood care.
How do I select the right Canopy fitting document?
Match both construction and layout to the purchased product.
The UK site separates wood, SPC, laminate and glue-down LVT instructions, including parquet formats. Keep the selected document with the order.
Is one Canopy warranty document suitable for every floor?
No. The UK site publishes separate warranty documents by construction.
Use the wood, SPC, laminate or glue-down LVT terms that match the purchase. Confirm the exact product and intended use with FloorDesigns.
What if a Canopy wood grade description appears inconsistent?
Resolve the discrepancy before approving the specification.
Calverley's checked page labels the grade Select while its explanatory tooltip describes Rustic. Ask the supplier to confirm the actual grade; do not choose between conflicting labels.
What details should identify a Canopy order?
Use the product name, construction, layout and selected pack specification.
Keep the manufacturer's UK product URL, order reference and agreed accessories together. A colour name or herringbone image alone does not identify the fitting system.
