Bronte Carpets: questions and answers
Bronte offers distinctive wool-carpet choices, including pure-wool colours, 80/20 twist and carved-border designs. The right choice depends on fibre, room use, dimensions, finishing details and the actual sample—not the colour name alone.
Is every Bronte carpet made from 100% wool?
No. Bronte lists both pure-wool choices and an 80/20 Twist family. For example, Baby Pink appears within the pure-wool offering and Amazon within 80/20 Twist. Check the particular label before making decisions about cleaning, durability or price.
What is the difference between wool and 80/20 twist?
The listed 80/20 twist blends wool with nylon, whereas the 100% Wool family uses pure wool. Fibre alone is not a complete quality score: compare construction, density, intended use, care conditions and the sample in the actual room.
Can I specify a carved border around a room?
A carved border such as Arabesque needs a measured drawing. Check border position, corners, doorway cuts, layout direction and the matching central carpet. Ask for quantities based on that design, rather than a simple area calculation.
Can Bronte carpet be fitted on stairs?
Stair suitability must be established for the exact range, with a professional check of tread, riser, winders, nosings and underlay. Do not assume that every decorative or wool style is automatically approved for a heavily used staircase.
What should a fitted quotation include?
The quote should identify the named carpet and colour, fitting quantities, underlay, accessories, joins, uplift or disposal if needed, fitting labour, VAT and any bespoke finishing. Confirm delivery and installation dates separately.
How do I clean a wool Bronte carpet?
Use the care instructions supplied with that wool product. Remove dry dirt regularly and seek product-specific advice before treating spills. A synthetic carpet’s bleach-cleaning guidance must not be applied to wool automatically.
How is a custom Bronte colour agreed?
Approve the manufacturer's colour tuft before bespoke production starts.
Keep the reference with the order. A paid hand trial can check the quality and colour.
Will a later Bronte order exactly match my first room?
An exact match between separately ordered dye lots is not guaranteed.
Plan adjoining areas together and tell FloorDesigns which rooms must match. Keep the original colour reference, but confirm any later addition before ordering.
What should be checked before Bronte carpet is cut?
Check the delivered size, colour, quality and visible condition first.
Raise any discrepancy before cutting or fitting. Photograph the labels and affected area so the supplier can identify the exact order.
Does shading always mean a Bronte carpet has failed?
No. Cut-pile direction can change how light reflects from wool.
Bronte identifies pile reversal as a carpet characteristic. Ask for assessment when the cause is unclear; appearance alone does not establish a manufacturing fault.
Does a Bronte manufacturing price cover the whole fitted job?
Bronte distinguishes carpet manufacture from measuring, delivery, underlay and fitting.
Ask FloorDesigns for the full installed quotation, with the bespoke specification and each service identified. Confirm the agreed delivery programme separately.
What records should I keep for a bespoke Bronte purchase?
Keep the approved colour, quality, final plan and itemised order.
Save sample approvals, delivery labels, photographs and supplied care terms together. These records help distinguish a specification query from an installation or aftercare issue.
