Bronte Carpets: product and fitting guide
Bronte offers distinctive wool-carpet choices, including pure-wool colours, 80/20 twist and carved-border designs. The right choice depends on fibre, room use, dimensions, finishing details and the actual sample—not the colour name alone.
Choose between pure wool and the 80/20 twist
Bronte’s 100% Wool range includes the Baby Pink reference, while the 80/20 Twist family includes Amazon. These are different product families: the manufacturer identifies the twist as a blend of wool and nylon, rather than a pure-wool construction.
Ask for the full specification of the sample you select. Compare pile construction, density, width, backing and permitted locations. A shared brand name cannot establish the same wear performance, care method or price for both.
Use the colour sample in the actual room
Strong colours and softer neutrals can look markedly different under warm lamps and northern daylight. View a large enough sample beside skirtings, fabrics and adjoining floor finishes before committing to an exact shade.
If several rooms are being carpeted, establish whether the intended colour continues through the hallway and stairs. Keep the manufacturer colour reference alongside the room plan, so an alternative shade is not substituted by mistake.
Bespoke borders require a drawn installation
The Carved Border Arabesque example illustrates why decorative borders need more planning than a plain carpet. Define where the border starts and finishes, how it turns at corners and how it relates to the usable room dimensions.
Ask the fitter to check seams, the main carpet direction and the border width before estimating material quantities. A drawing agreed before cutting is more reliable than allowing a single blanket percentage for waste.
Measure the whole fitted job
A floor area in square metres does not always equal the amount of carpet purchased. Manufacturer width, room shape, pattern direction, joins, stair turns and any crafted border all affect the take-off.
Include underlay, gripper, door thresholds, uplift and disposal where applicable. Compare the completed installed price rather than putting two carpets side-by-side on material price alone.
Plan fitting and everyday care
Confirm whether the selected wool carpet is suitable for the rooms and stairs involved. Have the installer assess the subfloor, stair edges and junctions before placing the order.
Follow Bronte’s exact product-care guidance for vacuuming, spill treatment and professional cleaning. Do not transfer bleach-cleaning advice from a synthetic carpet to wool without explicit manufacturer approval.
Keep evidence of the final specification
Retain the precise range, colour, quantity, approved layout, invoice, fitting record and applicable warranty documents. Where supply is bespoke, confirm the order-change and delivery terms before committing.
FloorDesigns can help compare samples and develop a measured specification for a Falkirk property. Current stock, price and lead time must be confirmed at quotation.
