Brintons Residential: questions and answers
Brintons residential carpets offer different colours, patterns and textures. Choose the precise design and specification, then plan how its width, repeat and care requirements work in your home.
Are all Brintons carpets the same fibre blend?
Read the exact product specification. Bazaar Red Broadloom 1/30368 is listed at 80% wool and 20% nylon, but that example does not establish the composition of every product or commercial specification.
Why does a patterned carpet need a measured layout?
The width, repeats, matching and joins affect the ordered quantity and finished appearance. Agree the direction and seam plan with the fitter before comparing final quotations or placing the order.
Can Brintons carpet work with underfloor heating?
Provide the exact carpet and underlay tog values to the heating supplier. Brintons notes that systems have different limits and recommends checking the complete combination. The carpet’s tog alone does not establish suitability.
What is the tog for Bazaar Red Broadloom?
The manufacturer currently lists 2.03 for product 1/30368. Add the proposed underlay’s value for the heating assessment, and confirm the current specification before ordering.
What should I do when something spills?
Brintons advises blotting rather than rubbing. Use the care method appropriate to the product and spill, and obtain wool-suitable advice for stubborn marks. Do not use a synthetic carpet’s bleach-cleaning instructions.
What should I keep after the carpet is fitted?
Keep the invoice, full product reference, fitting and underlay details, care guidance and applicable warranty terms. That record helps FloorDesigns identify the installed carpet if you later need advice, repair or a cover assessment.
Is loose fluff after a new Brintons carpet is fitted always a defect?
Brintons says vacuuming initially removes some short fibres from new carpet. Follow its care guidance and the instructions for the selected product. If you see continuing fibre loss, damage or an unusual change, keep photographs and contact FloorDesigns with the purchase and fitting record.

Why can a Brintons cut-pile carpet look light and dark?
Yes. Brintons describes shading from different pile direction in cut-pile carpet. View it from different positions. Ask for assessment if the cause is unclear; pile shading does not explain every patch.

Does Brintons' moth treatment remove the need for preventive care?
No. Its FAQ describes resistance to moth-larvae damage, not immunity. It also highlights the risk in dark, undisturbed areas beneath furniture. Include those areas in vacuuming and address an existing infestation before replacement; confirm the selected product's treatment.

Will a Brintons wool-rich carpet match its sample exactly?
Brintons says an exact match to sampling is not guaranteed because natural textiles vary. Discuss connected rooms and separate orders before buying. Compare the exact reference and available production sample in the intended lighting.

Should I add a stain treatment without checking Brintons' advice?
No. Brintons warns that unsuitable or poorly applied treatments can harm appearance and performance. Its FAQ describes implications for the Brintons Promise. Check the current advice and proposed treatment before application.

Does Brintons recommend the same vacuum type as delicate plant-fibre carpet guidance?
Its residential care page recommends a cylindrical brushing action for named cut-pile carpets. Follow the chosen carpet's guidance rather than borrowing suction-only advice from another material. The recommendation is scoped to the cut-pile examples in that page, not an automatic instruction for every construction.
