Panaget: product and fitting guide

Panaget makes engineered French-oak parquet in plank and decorative formats. Comparing the exact board, wood grade, surface finish and laying method matters more than choosing from one photograph.

The different French-oak looks

FloorDesigns research covers Classic Topaze Diva 184, Authentic Bois Flotté Point de Hongrie 139 and Zenitude-Origine Sonate examples. Each has a distinctive colour, board shape and construction, so compare the actual sample before approving one.

Wood grading describes the visual character of the boards; select the grade and surface finish together to avoid unexpected knot or grain variation.

Herringbone and chevron require measured plans

The manufacturer’s Point de Hongrie 139 reference shows 139 mm-wide, 650 mm-long chevron-format components with more than one core/construction variant.

Set the starting line, cuts, directional pattern, borders and door thresholds before calculating material. A chevron design should not be priced from the finished square metres alone.

Surface layer and core affect future care

Panaget lists engineered options with different timber top layers, HDF or plywood cores and oil or lacquer finishes. A product’s real-wood face does not automatically mean unlimited sanding is possible.

Ask for the named product’s technical document and maintenance instructions, including restrictions on sanding and refinishing.

Installation is product-dependent

Some Panaget boards are approved for floating installation, others for glue-down arrangements, with particular requirements where heating or cooling systems are present.

Assess subfloor moisture, flatness, adhesive or underlay specification, skirting, edge movement and door clearance before ordering. Use current manufacturer instructions.

Heating requires the complete assembly

The manufacturer lists heating compatibility on selected products but may condition it on full glue-down or other preparation. Confirm the actual product and heating-system manufacturer’s rules.

Check temperature control, heat commissioning, subfloor and humidity. Do not transfer one Panaget specification to every oak floor.

Understand the true fitted cost

A quotation must allow for board sizes, purchased full packs, cutting waste, adhesives, preparation, trims and the additional labour associated with a decorative pattern.

FloorDesigns Falkirk can help compare samples and calculate materials for the actual room. Final price, UK stock and lead time must be confirmed at quotation.
