Cormar Carpets: product and fitting guide
Cormar Carpets has different easy-clean and soft-pile collections. A good fitted choice compares the named range, fibre, colour, width and use conditions rather than relying on a broad ‘stain-resistant’ label.
Compare Apollo and Primo range names
Cormar’s product catalogue lists Apollo Plus, Apollo Elite and Primo families among its carpet ranges. The manufacturer identifies Apollo Elite as a 100% Excellon polypropylene easy-clean carpet suitable for extra-heavy domestic use in its published listing.
Confirm the current product colour and specification before ordering. Do not assume that a different Cormar range, including wool or polyester products, shares Apollo Elite’s care or durability profile.
Choose softness and resilience for the room
A bedroom may favour a different surface feel from a busy hallway. Ask how the selected pile is constructed and whether its manufacturer use classification covers stairs and the traffic you expect.
Compare real samples under both daylight and evening light. Texture, pile direction and colour contrast are difficult to judge reliably from small website thumbnails.
Widths affect seams and total cost
The manufacturer’s Apollo Elite listing offers 4 m and 5 m widths. The appropriate choice depends on the room dimensions and fitting direction; buying a wider section may reduce a seam but affect waste and price.
Ask the estimator to show the actual cutting plan for irregular rooms, halls and stairs, including whether reusable offcuts are practical.
Underlay and preparation matter
Choose underlay to complement the selected carpet and consider floor preparation, gripper, doorway bars and any old-floor removal. Underlay is part of the fitted system, not an invisible afterthought.
If the property has underfloor heating, compare the combined carpet/underlay tog to the heating manufacturer’s specified limit before selecting the final components.
Use a true installed-price comparison
Compare the full quantity purchased, all fitting accessories, labour, any minimum attendance charge and VAT. For a rental flat or multiroom property, separate supply-only and supply-and-fit options where available.
Current promotional and manufacturer prices are not FloorDesigns quotes. Confirm supplier availability and the actual fitting programme before accepting a total.
Maintain the exact carpet correctly
Cormar gives range-specific cleaning and guarantee advice. Although some easy-clean polypropylene ranges are marketed as bleach cleanable, the method and dilution must come from that range’s own instructions.
Keep the invoice, product name, installation information and manufacturer warranty terms. Using the wrong treatment can invalidate the intended care approach.
