Westex Flooring: product and fitting guide

Westex manufactures premium wool and wool-blend carpets across velvet, twist and textured loop ranges. Choosing between Westend Velvet, Ultima Twist and the Natural Loop families needs an exact collection, colour and technical specification.

Different ranges, not just different colours

Westex lists Westend Velvet, Ultima Twist, Bouclé Natural Loop and several other carpet collections. Abalone, Acorn and Alloy recorded in the FloorDesigns dataset are product/colour references, not proof of a single shared carpet construction.

Compare collection and colour code together. A similarly named shade can appear in different surface types and the manufacturer’s current SKU determines the specification.

Westend Velvet is a wool-blend collection

Westex describes Westend Velvet as a soft-spun velvet carpet with a premium wool blend and 20% nylon to improve recovery and resilience. The range has different quality levels such as Supreme and Prestige.

Check which quality, width and pile you are selecting. A marketing reference to the full collection is not enough to calculate an accurate order or compare performance.

Natural loops require a separate decision

Westex’s Bouclé Natural Loop and Briar Natural Loop examples include 100% wool constructions, with textured loop surfaces distinct from the velvet collections.

Loop carpets can add character but should be checked for pets, stair wear, snagging and their own cleaning instructions. A velvet rule should not automatically be used for a wool-loop carpet.

Treat carpet protection as part of the specification

Westex publishes a protection programme including Stain Resist, Moth Guard, Fresh Guard and Allergy Guard. The precise protection claims and warranty conditions must be read from the current documents for the selected floor.

Protection is not permission for unlimited bleach, steam or unsuitable cleaning. Use the manufacturer-recommended method.

Plan colour matching, seams and fitting

Westex offers extensive colour options and custom-dye services in certain ranges. A visual match on-screen is not enough to establish that current production batches, widths or dye lots will be identical.

A full quote considers measured roll quantities, pattern and pile direction, fitting, underlay, gripper, thresholds, stairs and waste. Check dye orders and lead times carefully.

Keep a clear project record

Retain the collection, shade, quality, material quantity, sample approval, install date, fitting method, applicable warranty and aftercare sheets.

FloorDesigns Falkirk can explain how Westex wool carpets compare to alternatives on true fitted value. Current prices and stock remain subject to supplier confirmation.
