Lano: product and fitting guide
Lano produces residential and hospitality carpet collections, including Miri, Scala Classic and Scala Style. For a hotel, care setting or commercial corridor, compare yarn, backing, laying format, cleanability and technical ratings for the precise range.
Choose by sector and programme
Lano’s hospitality collection lists multiple different carpet designs, including Miri, Scala Classic and Scala Style. Decorative colour and pattern matter, but a room, corridor, stair or hospitality function may demand different tested characteristics.
Identify the expected footfall, furniture movement, access for maintenance and any project performance standards before selecting the range. Do not assume a hospitality listing alone satisfies all fire or slip requirements.
Compare Miri and Scala constructions
The manufacturer catalogue references Miri as a hospitality carpet with polyamide-type yarn notation in the source archive. Scala Classic has a named cut-pile listing, while Scala Style includes a solution-dyed variant reference.
Fibre terms alone do not establish durability, stain treatment or approved installation. Request the product-specific Lano technical data sheet for the exact design, colour and intended use.
Check backing, format and test evidence
Lano’s Scala Classic technical page identifies an ‘impervious’ secondary backing. That is information about a backing category, not evidence that the whole fitted floor becomes waterproof or hygienically sealed.
For hospitality tenders request the applicable fire classification, EN 1307 usage class, acoustic data and installation instructions. Missing values in an online preview must be treated as information to obtain, not silently guessed.
Plan colour and pattern for a whole building
Consider corridor sightlines, stair directions, individual guestrooms and transitions to entrance matting. Some designs with strong pattern or texture will need pattern matching and careful seam position.
For multiple floors or buildings, schedule the project in zones and record colour references, batch information and spare stock so later repairs remain visually acceptable.
Build the technical quotation by work package
The full price may include removal of existing carpet, subfloor preparation, underlay or adhesive, trims, stairs, fitting, out-of-hours access, furniture movement and waste management. An overnight hotel programme requires special scheduling.
Plan roll widths and pattern repeat using measured rooms and corridors. Separate direct material cost from labour and access constraints to avoid underestimating commercial installations.
Hand over a maintainable carpet specification
Retain Lano range name, colour and quality code, construction, approved backing, required certifications, fitting records, cleaning programme and warranty documents for each area of the site.
