Kährs: product and fitting guide
Kährs offers engineered wood floors in plank, three-strip and herringbone designs. Selecting an oak floor requires the correct construction, wear layer, laying format, pack coverage and heating guidance—not simply a timber-look picture.
Different Kährs wood formats need different planning
The research archive includes Oak Chamomille Herringbone Left, Oak Alp Rose and Oak Siena Satin. These illustrate herringbone, single-plank and three-strip formats that differ in board geometry and visual appearance.
Compare real samples for finish, grading, natural oak variation and the way light falls on the chosen pattern. Check the exact product reference so an apparently similar design is not mistaken for the intended floor.
Read the Oak Chamomille construction carefully
Kährs lists Oak Chamomille Herringbone Left in its Life Authentic Herringbone collection. The published veneer-floor reference is 593 × 121 × 10 mm, with a 0.6 mm hardwood wear layer, ultra-matt lacquer and HDF core.
The manufacturer marks this product as not resandable. It must not be sold as a thick, sandable engineered plank merely because the surface is real oak. Confirm the current catalogue edition and remaining availability.
Understand herringbone ordering
The Kährs product page lists 0.789 m² per pack for this particular herringbone variant. Manufacturer guidance recommends allowing additional material for cuts, but the actual job still needs a room-specific layout and full-pack calculation.
The left and right elements, starting angle, centre line, border treatment and threshold details determine the fitted result. A simplistic ‘room area times price’ calculation is not enough.
Heating compatibility is product-specific
Oak Chamomille Herringbone lists underfloor-heating suitability with a maximum of 27 °C. That is not permission to ignore the heating system’s start-up procedure, temperature sensors or the construction beneath the floor.
Different Kährs ranges may have different constraints. The installer should review the selected floor instructions, subfloor moisture and heating commissioning before fitting.
Decide on fitting, preparation and accessories
Kährs lists glue-down and floating installation options for the named Chamomille model, with Unifit X joint details. The correct installation depends on the approved product instructions and property conditions.
Inspect the substrate and plan door clearance, thresholds, skirting details and moisture management. If adjoining rooms change pattern, include the transition layout and extra cutting labour in the quote.
Do not promise unavailable stock
Some business-facing Kährs catalogue results may flag limited or discontinued production for a named variant. Product pages can remain visible after normal supply changes; request confirmation before quoting a project date or price.
Keep the exact SKU, measured pack quantity, fitting method, care guidance and warranty terms. FloorDesigns Falkirk can help compare oak samples and prepare a project-specific quote.
