IVC Commercial: product and fitting guide

IVC Commercial offers specification-led resilient vinyl floors for settings including retail, education, healthcare and hospitality. Selecting a sheet vinyl floor requires more than colour: the exact wear layer, slip classification, acoustic requirements, substrate, seams and maintenance regime must match the project.

Choose the correct commercial vinyl construction

IVC’s Centra 70, Adriatico 70 and Iperform 70 collections serve different briefs. The reference Centra 70 Avoriaz L34 is described as a compact wood-look heterogeneous vinyl, while Adriatico includes acoustic-backed patterns.

Start with the client’s written requirements for traffic, rolling loads, noise, hygiene, cleaning and visual design. Do not treat all floors with ’70’ in the range name as mechanically identical.

Use a real product specification: Centra 70 Avoriaz L34

IVC lists Avoriaz L34 with a 0.70 mm wear layer, HyperGuard+ treatment, R10 slip resistance, Bfl-s1 fire classification and a fully-glued installation system. The product is offered in 2 m, 3 m and 4 m nominal widths.

These values apply to the named Avoriaz item and its current technical sheet. A designer, insurer or facilities manager should verify the relevant classification for the intended location and installed system.

Slip resistance is a project safety decision

An R10 designation is information, not a universal approval for kitchens, washrooms or other wet and greasy environments. Wet-use safety requires the applicable risk assessment, cleaning regime and often additional testing evidence.

For public buildings, obtain the customer’s site hazard information before recommending a product. Avoid substituting attractive wood-look vinyl for a specialist safety flooring system where slip controls are required.

Welds, coved skirtings and thresholds matter

Commercial sheet vinyl often needs a designed seam layout, compatible welding rod and detailed perimeter/transition treatment. Avoriaz L34 has a named recommended welding-rod code in the source documentation.

Plan welded seams, coved skirtings, penetrations, junctions and room phasing before purchase. The finish at a door or drain can affect cleaning and service life as much as the sheet colour.

Inspect the subfloor and manage access

Before installation, assess moisture, surface flatness, structural integrity, contamination, existing adhesive and whether suitable preparation compounds are required. The glue-down system must be compatible with the substrate.

Commercial premises may need out-of-hours works, temporary segregation and cure times. Quote the whole programme: uplift, levelling, flooring, adhesives, welds, profiles, labour, protection and handover.

Deliver a technical handover

Provide the installed product and colour reference, latest technical sheet, fire and slip evidence applicable to the project, installer record, maintenance regime and spare material where appropriate.
