FLOORDESIGNS / PRODUCT GUIDES

Invictus: product and fitting guide

Invictus includes a high-comfort carpet offer within Associated Weavers, using named ranges such as Sirius, Centurion and Aurelius. These should be differentiated from Invictus hard flooring: fibre, backing and room rating matter more than the shared label.

Choose carpet or hard floor first

Invictus can refer to carpet ranges and hard-floor collections in the wider brand family. The FloorDesigns reference set for this guide is Invictus carpet: Sirius 03 Linen, Centurion 03 Cream and Aurelius 02 Mirage.

Confirm the material category before searching or estimating. A carpet’s pile, underlay and roll width have little in common with the pack sizes and adhesive or locking joints of vinyl flooring.

Study the Sirius 03 specification rather than marketing alone

Associated Weavers lists Sirius 03 Linen with a 100% iVinci solution-dyed olefin pile, FusionBac backing and a frisé texture. Published widths are 3 m, 4 m and 5 m; tog is listed as 2.3 for this reference.

Those values describe Sirius 03, not Centurion or every Invictus floor. The manufacturer’s room listing and current stain or wear warranty conditions must be checked against the precise order.

Compare the feel and performance of the pile

Sirius, Centurion and Aurelius are separate designs. A frisé pile can have a different texture from a Saxony or loop, changing how light reflects and how the surface feels underfoot.

Try samples in the same light at the same time of day. Where children and pets are expected, compare pile resilience and the manufacturer’s stated cleaning method as well as the initial softness.

Use the manufacturer room classification

Sirius 03 lists general domestic uses including bedrooms, living and dining rooms; this example alone should not be interpreted as universal approval for busy stairways or every commercial interior.

For halls, stairs and high-traffic areas, request the selected carpet’s own suitability data. Explain the expected use to the estimator rather than choosing solely from a customer review or brochure image.

Cutting, width choice and underlay

Different roll widths offer possibilities to reduce seams or material waste, but the cheapest width depends on actual room shapes, pile direction and how joins can be located. Prepare a plan for stairs and irregular halls separately.

Choose underlay, grippers and thresholds for the named carpet and the floor below. Underfloor-heating installations also need a combined carpet and underlay tog check.

Make cleaning and warranty assumptions explicit

The Sirius product page shows branded stain, wear and bleach-cleanability benefits, but warranty limits and the permitted cleaning method must be read from the applicable manufacturer documents.

Retain product code, ordered width, colour, sample approval and delivery date. FloorDesigns Falkirk can advise on an itemised fitted quotation and explain where the final quantity differs from net room area.
