Brintons Commercial: product and fitting guide
A Brintons commercial carpet should be specified for the actual project: design, traffic, construction, performance requirements and maintenance. A collection image is the start of the conversation, not the complete specification.
Start with the building and its users
Describe the space before selecting a carpet: hotel bedroom, corridor, reception, office or another use. Record traffic, access from outside, cleaning arrangements and the appearance the design needs to maintain.
Identify project requirements such as fire performance, accessibility and acoustics with the responsible project team. Ask for evidence covering the proposed product and complete installation, rather than assuming the brand name satisfies every requirement.
Use collection and design references together
The Brintons commercial site presents collections such as Tirranna, Rihla Road and Flourish. Use the selected collection and design reference to obtain the correct sample and specification. A brochure image should not be used to infer fibre content or pile performance.
For a large scheme, compare the pattern at the intended scale and in the actual lighting. Decide how it relates to furniture, circulation routes and adjoining finishes, then retain the approved design reference in the project record.
Turn the sample into a written specification
Request the exact construction, pile composition, dimensions or available widths, pattern repeats, intended-use information and relevant test documents. Keep each document attached to the proposed carpet so a similar design is not substituted without review.
Where a performance certificate matters, confirm the product and configuration it covers. Ask the project specifier to resolve applicability to the building before an order is placed.
Plan pattern, seams and programme
Use the manufacturer’s commercial installation guidance with the selected product and site conditions. Have the installer assess the substrate and preparation and draw the proposed pattern direction, seam positions, thresholds and finishing details.
Agree access, working hours, furniture movement and the sequence of installation. Record any restrictions on opening the space after fitting. Confirm the final measured quantity against the layout rather than estimating from floor area alone.
Make maintenance workable for the site
Obtain a care schedule for the installed carpet and discuss it with the people who will maintain the building. Include dry debris removal, spill response, periodic cleaning and the equipment and products permitted for that specification.
A maintenance plan is useful only if the site can carry it out. Agree responsibilities and keep the product identity available so later cleaning advice relates to the installed carpet, not a residential or different commercial range.
Keep the commercial handover record
Retain the approved specification, order and invoice, applicable warranty terms, installation record and care information. Confirm what the cover addresses, any exclusions and how a claim should be reported.
Bring the design shortlist and project brief to FloorDesigns. We will confirm the current product information, supply arrangements and scope of the measured quotation; manufacturer collection pages are not a statement of FloorDesigns stock or lead time.
