BerryAlloc: product and fitting guide
BerryAlloc floor collections differ in construction, dimensions and locking systems. Compare the exact SKU and its current installation and care documents before choosing the finished layout.
Identify one exact collection and SKU
A design name alone may not identify the board format you intend to buy. Record the collection, SKU, dimensions, thickness and locking system, then compare the sample with that information.
Think about the board proportions in the room and the direction through adjoining spaces. Ask the fitter to show the layout and transitions before the order quantity is calculated.
A format example: Select Light Sand
The manufacturer’s Ocean+ Select Light Sand page, SKU 62002978, lists an 8 mm click laminate board measuring 2038 × 241 mm with a PentaLoc locking system. This is a specific format example; it does not describe every BerryAlloc floor.
The international listing does not itself establish UK supply. Ask FloorDesigns to confirm the current UK product and applicable specification before ordering. If the quoted format changes, compare the new SKU rather than relying on the same design name.
Assess the room beyond a water-resistance headline
The selected range’s installation and care instructions determine how it should be used. Ask about the intended room, edges, junctions and spill management. A product’s water-resistance description should not be used as blanket approval for every wet environment.
Tell the fitter about fixed units, doorways and adjoining floor heights. Those details help identify the preparation, expansion provision and transition requirements from the actual installation document.
Choose the complete installation system
Use the fitting instructions for the chosen collection and locking system. Ask the installer to assess the substrate, moisture condition and flatness, and identify the compatible underlay or other components.
For underfloor heating, provide the product and underlay information to both the installer and heating supplier. Agree the applicable limits and commissioning routine before fitting instead of borrowing a temperature limit from another range.
Calculate the measured order and finishing details
Have the measured layout account for cuts and the agreed direction. Check current pack coverage for the exact SKU and reconcile the order with whole packs. Include profiles, skirtings and threshold details in the quotation.
Ask what the total includes: floor, preparation, underlay where required, fitting, trims and disposal. That makes quotations easier to compare and avoids treating a board-only price as the cost of the finished room.
Keep care and warranty documents with the purchase
Find the care and warranty documents for the exact floor in the manufacturer’s document centre. Confirm the intended-use category and relevant conditions, then keep the applicable edition, invoice and fitting record.
Use the permitted cleaning method and products. Before applying steam, abrasive treatments or a different manufacturer’s cleaner, check the selected floor’s own instructions. FloorDesigns can help identify the information for the quoted product.
