It is important to distinguish the group identity from the actual manufacturer and named carpet range.

Understand what Whitestone Weavers represents

Victoria plc describes Whitestone Weavers as a supplier and creator of contract and residential woven and tufted carpets with origins in 1991. Hugh Mackay’s history records its purchase by Whitestone in 2006.

A product supplied through the group may be sold under Hugh Mackay or another related identity. FloorDesigns should preserve the original product and manufacturer reference rather than count the same range as two separate carpets.

Use named manufacturer products in comparisons

The archived Whitestone/Hugh Mackay reference set includes Grand Canyon and Bellini. Grand Canyon’s current Hugh Mackay page specifies 100% wool loop pile, fleece backing, 4 m and 5 m widths and a 12.5 cm pattern repeat.

Those details belong to Grand Canyon specifically; Bellini requires separate current technical confirmation. This distinction is important for cleaning, suitability, width planning and search metadata.

Woven and tufted are not identical

Carpet construction affects pattern possibilities, texture, fitting behaviour and sometimes the amount of matching waste. Ask for the precise tufted, woven, Axminster or loop specification rather than rely on a supplier’s group name.

Where a commercial building requires a tested fire or performance classification, demand the product-specific evidence for the actual supplied carpet.

Plan the Grand Canyon repeating pattern

Grand Canyon’s published 12.5 cm repeat can influence cutting and joining. A stairway with landings and turns can require additional matching allowance.

Measure real room geometry, check pile and pattern direction, and decide where seams and offcuts can be used. This should be included in the full estimate.

Check care, wool use and underlay

Wool fibres need their own manufacturer cleaning guidance. The published Grand Canyon tog is 1.82, but underfloor heating depends on the carpet-plus-underlay total and heating-system requirements.

Stair suitability and project warranty conditions cannot be inferred from the generic Whitestone name or group history.

Quote by real SKU and supplier

Include the full brand/range/colour identity, roll width, purchased quantity, underlay, accessories, fitted labour and VAT. Verify stock, supplier provenance and any commercial lead-time conditions.

FloorDesigns Falkirk can help compare the right carpet for the property while keeping linked group identities clear in its catalogue.

Explore Whitestone Weavers

Brand overview

Product and fitting guide

Questions and answers

FloorDesigns Falkirk

Compare real samples, use a measured plan and confirm current supplier stock and technical warranties before placing an order.

Contact FloorDesigns · Measuring and fitting · Find your flooring

Manufacturer references

Sources reviewed October 2026.
