Choosing a designer rug involves fibre and construction, exact size, placement, grip and cleaning—not only pattern.

Identify the real Clarke & Clarke rug collection

Asiatic’s collection directory lists Clarke & Clarke designs including Blaize, Botany and Passiflora; retail references also identify Gabrielle and Lavico within the designer rug offering. These are decorative rugs rather than a universal range of wall-to-wall carpets.

Confirm the full product and colour name with its maker or distributor. Do not mistake a supplier-wide Asiatic product for a Clarke & Clarke design solely because both appear in the same shop.

Choose dimensions before committing to a pattern

Check room dimensions and the placement of furniture. A living-room rug might frame front sofa legs; a dining-room rug needs sufficient clearance for pulled-back chairs. Photograph the floor plan and test the size with paper or tape.

Manufacturer sizes and shape options vary by design. Order by the exact variant, not by an assumed universal 160 × 230 cm format.

Compare yarns and surface behaviour

Clarke & Clarke designer rugs can use different fibre combinations. For example, an Asiatic Lavico listing describes a viscose/polyester mixture with a lustrous, high-low surface. Its cleaning restrictions must not be applied automatically to Gabrielle or Botany.

Consider pets, children, frequent spills, footfall and sunlight when choosing between soft lustre and easier-care construction. A small sample can reveal pile direction and texture that an image cannot.

Protect the rug and the floor below

On smooth hard flooring, assess a compatible anti-slip layer to reduce movement; match it to the subfloor and the rug backing. Confirm whether underlay could affect the floor’s own surface finish or warranty.

Use suitable furniture placement and avoid hazardous curling at entrances. If the rug has a pronounced pile, check door and chair movement before ordering.

Understand colour, light and wear

Botanical and digital-print motifs can change markedly with viewing angle, ambient light and the orientation of the rug. Inspect samples or accurate swatches in the actual space and check whether the colour matches curtains and furnishings.

Sunlight, abrasion and incorrect cleaning affect many decorative textiles; the exact manufacturer care instructions are the authority for the purchased product.

Confirm procurement and care details

Request the named design, colour, chosen size, fibre composition, delivery terms, return conditions and cleaning advice before committing. Designer collections can contain variants with different availability.

FloorDesigns can help compare the rug with proposed flooring and interior finishes in Falkirk. Listing a product example is not a promise of current stock or supplier terms.

Explore Clarke & Clarke

Brand page

Product and fitting guide

Questions and answers

Ask FloorDesigns Falkirk

We can help you choose a suitable product and prepare a measured quotation.
